By examining the DNA of more than 100 moss carder bumblebee specimens stored at the Natural History Museum and other institutions across the UK, the researchers saw dramatic changes in the genetic diversity of these insects. Specimens used in the study came from the Natural History Museum, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Tullie - Art Gallery, World Museum and National Museums Scotland. They were collected between 1890 and 2019.
