Exact excerpt
More than 60,000 bone fragments were morphologically screened; 22 were classified as possible hominin remains, 76 fragments were analyzed by ZooMS, and 17 by proteomic sequencing. The three hominin fossils comprised BFD767 from layer 7, BFD769 from layer 9, and BFD771 from layer 7. Layer 7 was dated to 148–139 and 142–134 ka, whereas layer 9 was dated to 167–161 and 160–150 ka. Four hominin teeth were excavated from layer 7, but only YHB3518 and YHB3075 were selected for proteomic analysis.
