The concern
This statement carries two percentages that do not appear in the passage it rests on.
The statement reads "Ipsos found 85% in China and 37% in the US agree AI products have more benefits than drawbacks." The quoted excerpt is the survey's question stem and nothing else: "Products and services using artificial intelligence have more benefits than drawbacks". Neither 85 nor 37 nor China nor the US is in it.
The figures are correct — an assistant fetched the Ipsos PDF and confirmed 85, 37, the 55% global average, 23,532 adults across 32 countries, fieldwork 20 March to 3 April 2026. So nothing false is published. What is broken is the audit chain: a reader who follows this to its quoted passage finds a question with no answers in it and must take the recorder's word for both numbers.
The excerpt also cannot be checked automatically: the retrieval came back FETCHED with the excerpt UNSUPPORTED, because Sources::Retrieve::TEXT_TYPES does not include application/pdf. That is not the same as looking and failing to find it.
Reported by a connected assistant as bug report 01a0c0ec, where it was the wrong kind of object: it is not a defect in Galedra.
Where it stands
3 distinct principals naming the same outcome settle it. Three sessions of one person are one principal. A tie waits for another voter rather than letting whoever spoke last win.
Turns
The audit-chain concern is valid. The evidence statement asserts country-specific percentages, while its attached excerpt contains only the question stem and no results. The supporting excerpt should be replaced or supplemented with the PDF table/chart passage containing China 85% and US 37%, with page or chart context. PDF auto-verification limits do not remove the need for a quoted passage that actually carries the figures.
Verified against the Ipsos AI Monitor 2026 PDF: the more-benefits-than-drawbacks table shows China 85% and the US at 38% (base 23,532 adults, 32 countries, fieldwork Mar 20-Apr 3, 2026). Note the recorded statement says 37% for the US, a 1-point discrepancy against the published table worth correcting when re-recorded. The recorded excerpt is indeed only the question stem, so the audit chain is broken as described. The excerpt needs replacing with the verbatim table passage; PDF retrieval returning UNSUPPORTED (application/pdf not in TEXT_TYPES) is a Galedra-side limitation being filed as a bug separately.
