Exact excerpt
Six patients completed an approach–avoidance task with the goal of earning rubies. Following a 600-ms pan-in period before responses were allowed, participants had 6 s (decision epoch) to decide whether to approach or avoid. Avoiding moved them to the next corridor without gains or losses; approaching advanced them down the corridor.
