Exact excerpt
WHOLISTIC images second-timescale cellular activity at cellular resolution using volumetric fluorescence microscopy, machine learning, and pancellular transgenic calcium sensors. The method was demonstrated in transparent young larval Danio rerio; adult Danionella cerebrum was only a proof of concept. In larval zebrafish, the screen identified rhythmic travelling waves along the renal nephron and unknown muscle synergies and muscle–organ interactions.
